‘Memorial Day Music in the City’ event kicks off weekend festivities

A two-day festival featuring almost 20 bands is coming to three locations across Jackson to kick off the Memorial Day weekend.

The music festival, named “Memorial Day Music in the City,” was organized by several local promoters and artists to take the place of JXN Fest, which was canceled one week before the event.

Now, artists across the area that were planning to perform at the canceled JXN Fest have another opportunity to bring their music to local Mississippians.

Here’s the full lineup for the event:

FRIDAY, MAY 27, 7 p.m. at Hal and Mal’s

  • Pink Palaces
  • Judson Wright

SATURDAY, MAY 28, 5 p.m. at Fondren Guitars

  • Empty Atlas
  • Kicking
  • Don Quixote’s Horse
  • Betsy Berryhill
  • NF//GS

SATURDAY, MAY 28, 6 p.m. at The Flamingo

  • 5th Child
  • Yung Jewelz
