Three people were arrested in Pearl River County after law enforcement discovered methamphetamine concealed in a sweet-tea jug.
According to the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted what would have otherwise been a routine traffic stop on Aug. 6 when they found “two bags” of meth concealed inside a Milo’s Tea gallon.
“During the stop, probable cause to search the vehicle was developed,” a portion of the release reads. “The patrol deputy noticed a white plastic bag inside of a plastic jug containing Milo’s sweet tea. The deputy emptied the tea from the jug and recovered two bags containing methamphetamine.”
The bust happened in the 1400 block of South Main Street in Poplarville and resulted in the arrests of Patrick Russell, 33; Briana Harris, 27; and Javaze Bowden, 29.
All three were taken to the Pearl River County Jail and face charges including tampering with evidence, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
