One Mississippian is behind bars after taking Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson’s Wedding Crashers a bit too far.

56-year-old Sandra Lynn Henson, now being dubbed the “Mid-South Wedding Crasher,” was arrested in Pontotoc County last week after a string of crashed weddings in Mississippi, Tennessee, and Alabama.

Instead of simply partaking in the festivities as Hollywood had it, Henson was stealing gifts from newlyweds and money and credit cards from attendees. She is being charged with petit larceny, trespassing, and disturbing the peace.

“Miss Henson was wanted in Alabama and was arrested at a wedding in Pontotoc County,” a Facebook post from the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Office said. “Miss Henson has been arrested in Alabama, Tennessee, and Mississippi for crashing weddings and stealing money and cards from purses.”

According to AL.com, Henson was initially arrested in 2019 and charged with crashing two weddings in Florence, Alabama. A Memphis TV station reported in 2021 that Henson had been convicted of theft and had her probation revoked after additional incidents in Mississippi and Tennessee.

She was supposed to be in jail until 2025 but was released early for reasons that are currently unclear.
