Mississippi Aquarium’s annual “Hancock Whitney Sea of Stars” fundraising event is set to kick off on Saturday, September 23.
The event — which raises money for the coastal nonprofit each year — will feature ambassador animals, aquatic performances, and more on the grounds of Mississippi Aquarium from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
“Mississippi Aquarium and Hancock Whitney have been partnering since 2018’s Splash Bash to create memorable fundraising events supporting the Aquarium,” Mississippi Aquarium President and CEO Kurt Allen said. “This year we are excited to have The Molly Ringwalds perform while also showcasing our beautiful park, including the newest exhibition space inside Changing Tides presented by Keesler Federal Credit Union.”
Opening for the main act is local musician Brennan Roybal, who is best known for his folk-rock piano covers.
The Molly Ringwalds, who have been dubbed “the ultimate ’80s cover band,” are expected to perform popular songs from a variety of genres later in the event.
In addition to musical performances, the evening will include coastal cuisine, cocktails, a silent auction, photo opportunities with ambassador animals, and a few underwater surprises throughout the night.

Additionally, Mississippi Aquarium provides an extraordinary first-hand look at the state’s aquatic resources and the amazing wildlife calling those habitats home,” Hancock Whitney Market President Brent Fairley said. “We are honored to partner with Mississippi Aquarium again this year to present ‘Hancock Whitney Sea of Stars’ to support the education, conservation, community, and research at the heart of Mississippi Aquarium’s mission.”
Sponsorships for the event range from $5,000 to $15,000, with patron-level packages starting at $300.
Sponsor benefits include access to the Hancock Whitney VIP CHILL Lounge, featuring plush seating with exclusive handcrafted cocktails and hors d’oeuvres along with other special amenities.
