Could Mississippi be the next state to get an In-N-Out? According to the burger chain’s chief executive, it’s a real possibility.
In-N-Out CEO Lynsi Snyder recently joined Terry Crews for a conversation posted on the company’s website. While it was mostly about the 78th anniversary of In-N-Out, Snyder did discuss future expansion plans for the fast-food chain known for its “Animal Style” burgers and fries.
Snyder, who is the granddaughter of In-N-Out founders Harry and Esther Snyder, talked about their decision to open five locations in Tennessee over the past two years. Bringing the number of states In-N-Out is in to 10, Snyder said the reason expansion is becoming more of a reality is because of the qualities ingrained in every location.
“I just want to make sure that everything is right and that our In-N-Out family is strong and we’re retaining all those values…like the quality, the cleanliness, the friendliness,” Snyder said. “If I ever felt like we were slipping or losing our way, growth would look a lot different. I would be like ‘hold on.’”
The Tennessee expansion came largely from the CEO’s decision to move her family to the Volunteer State, as Snyder highlighted to Crews, but also because of In-N-Out’s distribution hub being located in East Texas. Because of that, Snyder stated that, while she doesn’t imagine In-N-Out will reach states further east than Tennessee anytime soon, more states around that Texas distribution hub are appealing candidates for future locations.
“If you look at the map…there’s Arkansas, Mississippi, and Oklahoma. There are some states there that are possibilities,” Snyder teased.
As of now, there is no formal announcement or timeline for when or where a Mississippi location of In-N-Out would open.
