As red snapper fishing enthusiasts gear up for the soon-to-open season, many eyes will look to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The coastal region is one of the best places in the U.S. for anglers to cast a hook for the species, according to one publication.
FishingBooker, the largest platform for booking American fishing trips, named “The Secret Coast, Mississippi” as one of its top eight best red snapper fishing destinations for 2025. The platform says the spots earned recognition through offering the most productive bite, easiest access, and knowledgeable fishing guides compared to other options.

“Just 15–25 miles offshore, sunk barges, old bridge spans, and purpose-built pyramids create prime habitat for reef fish, with Red Snapper responding well to live bait like pinfish and squid,” a press release from FishBooker reads. “Combined with stunning moss-draped oaks and soft pastel sunsets, the Secret Coast delivers exceptional Snapper fishing alongside a captivating Gulf Coast escape.”
Other destinations that landed on the list include Pensacola, Fla., Galveston, Texas, and Dauphin Island, Ala.
