A murder suspect wanted in Mississippi was found across the state line in Tennessee, hiding underneath a bed moments before his arrest, according to law enforcement.
The U.S. Marshals Service arrested Malcolm Kohn on Wednesday after nine days of him being on the run. Kohn, a Leflore County native, was wanted for the shooting death of a man outside a Greenwood business.
On Aug. 4, Joshua Brewer was shot and transported to a local hospital before dying from his injuries. The next day, a warrant was signed for the arrest of Kohn, but law enforcement couldn’t find him.
An investigation by the U.S. Marshals Service ended in Memphis with Kohn being taken into custody at a residence in the 900 block of Greer Street.
“Kohn was located at the residence, hiding under a bed, and refusing to submit arrest,” an announcement by the U.S. Marshals Service reads. “Marshals utilized its K-9, Marko, resulting in Kohn’s surrender.”
Kohn was transported to the Shelby County Jail, where he awaits extradition to Mississippi.
