Haylee Ladner, a schoolteacher out of Purvis, gave birth to quintuplets on Feb. 16 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

The new mother of five joined Good Things with Rebecca Turner on Thursday with an update.

“Everything went as smoothly as possible. We had everybody here. Our family was here, so it was a good day,” Ladner recounted. “I cannot say enough good things about UMMC and the medical staff that we have been blessed with over here.”

All five of the babies – Adalyn Elizabeth, Everleigh Rose, Malley Kate, Magnolia Mae, and Jake Easton – were born within just minutes of each other and are healthy after four weeks. They were removed off ventilators after

“Everybody talks about how they are so surprised and are just amazed at how well they’re doing,” Ladner continued. “None of them are on ventilators. They actually got to all come off ventilators a day or two after they were born. They’re now on CPAP machines, so they can breathe on their own. They just have to have a little bit of extra respiratory support to give their lungs a little pressure for expansion.”

Ladner and her husband, Shawn, expect to be able to take their babies home in a little over a month. The full interview can be watched below.
