Mississippi State and Ole Miss have punched their ticket to the NCAA Championship in women’s golf.
The Bulldogs, earning their fourth consecutive appearance in the postseason tournament, shot 2-over par in the final round of this week’s Gold Canyon Regional hosted by Arizona State. Charlie Ewing’s squad had four golfers inside the top 20 of the regional at its conclusion on Wednesday.

Ocean Springs native Avery Weed, a sophomore, was the top finisher for the Bulldogs, as she rounded out the Gold Canyon Regional tied for No. 12 at 2-over. Mississippi State will be back in action when the NCAA Championship kicks off on Friday at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.

For the third straight year and sixth time in program history, Ole Miss will be competing for a national title. The Rebels advanced to the final postseason stop of the year following a runner-up finish in the Charlottesville Regional hosted by Virginia. Kory Henkes’ club posted a 54-hole score of 861 (+9), and four players finished inside the top 25.
Freshman Kajsalotta Svarvar, who finished third individually, led the team’s effort. Svarvar had the low 54-hole score for Ole Miss, posting a 212 (-1), marking the best finish of her inaugural collegiate campaign.
