The Mississippi University for Women, which has been coeducational since 1982, has released the results from a recent name change survey.

The survey received over 4,300 responses since its initial release last fall and had the following results:

  1. University of Northern Mississippi
  2. Callaway State University
  3. Weathersby State University
  4. University of Central Mississippi
  5. West Appalachia University
  6. Williams State University
  7. Northern Mississippi University
  8. University of Eastern Mississippi

Although the survey has run its course, the university has since said that it does not plan to make any decisions until at least a year from now.

MUW, located in Columbus, was founded by Mary J.S. Callaway in 1884 and currently has around 2,200 students.
