The weather across the state is shaping up to be hot and humid with a chance for some showers and possible thunderstorms.

Expect partly sunny skies across north Mississippi with a chance for showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. Highs in the upper 80s with heat index readings up to 102.  Mostly cloudy tonight with a chance of thunderstorms.  Lows in the lower 70s.

In central Mississippi, it will be mostly sunny this morning, then becoming mostly cloudy.  Expect some patchy fog early.  There’s a slight chance of thunderstorms this morning and afternoon and a chance for showers throughout the day.  Highs in the lower 90s with heat index readings up to 103.  Mostly cloudy tonight with a chance for showers and thunderstorms.  Lows in the lower to mid-70s.

In south Mississippi, expect partly sunny skies in the morning with some patchy fog.  Clouds will begin to roll in with a chance for showers and thunderstorms this morning and afternoon.  Highs in the upper 80s with a heat index of around 101.  Mostly cloudy tonight with a chance for showers and thunderstorms.  Lows in the mid-70s.
