Mississippi Weather Outlook for Thursday, March 25th

According to the National Weather Service, a significant severe weather event is likely today. Severe storms capable of strong and long-track tornadoes, damaging winds, and hail greater than golf balls are possible over much of the area.

Here’s a look at your statewide forecast:

To the north, a chance of possibly severe morning thunderstorms. Showers are likely throughout the day. Possibly severe afternoon thunderstorms are likely. Highs in the mid 70’s. Tonight, a chance of showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms. Some could be severe. Lows in the lower 50’s.

In central Mississippi, a chance of morning thunderstorms with heavy rainfall. Showers likely throughout the day. Thunderstorms likely in the afternoon and some may be severe with heavy rainfall. Highs in the upper 70’s. Tonight, a chance of showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms. Some may be severe. Lows in the lower to mid 50’s.

To the south, chance of morning and afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Some storms may be severe. Highs near 80. Tonight, a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some storms could be severe. Lows near 60.
