MSDH confirms 1,804 new COVID-19 cases, 28 deaths

The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting 1,804 new cases of COVID-19. 

The latest report brings the state’s total up to 270,476. With the confirmation of 28 additional deaths, 5,945 Mississippians have now passed away from the virus. 

*MSDH Note: 4 COVID-19 related deaths occurred between December 28, 2020 and January 20, 2021, identified from death certificate reports.

Overall hospitalizations remain below 1,000 in the latest data from the MSDH.

To date, over 214,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Mississippi. To make an appointment, visit https://covidvaccine.umc.edu or call 877-978-6453. Currently, those over the age of 65 and those with underlying health conditions are eligible.
