MSDH confirms 1,834 new COVID-19 cases in weekly report

On Tuesday, the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) confirmed 1,834 new cases of COVID-19.

The seven-day update brings the state’s total number of recorded cases since the onset of the pandemic to 940,023. With two additional deaths, 13,036 Mississippians have now passed away as a result of the virus. Additionally, there are currently 41 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.

Mississippi is averaging 106 daily cases, a 46% decrease from two weeks ago. As of October 1, 1,567,597 Mississippians were fully vaccinated.
