MSDH confirms 2,698 new cases of COVID-19, 22 deaths

On Tuesday, the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) confirmed 2,698 new cases of COVID-19.

The latest report brings the state’s total number of cases up to 535,258. With the confirmation of 22 additional deaths, 10,420 Mississippians have passed away from the virus.

Currently, 1,443,274 Mississippi residents are fully vaccinated.

As the less lethal but more contagious Omicron variant continues to run its course, monoclonal treatments are sparse with less than 400 being allocated to Mississippi this week.
