MSDH confirms 410 new cases of COVID-19, 6 deaths

The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting its highest COVID-19 case total in over a month. 

The latest report of 410 new cases—the highest since March 13th—brings the state’s total up to 308,521. With the confirmation of *6 additional deaths, 7,127 Mississippians have passed away from the virus. 

*MSDH Note: 3 deaths occurred between March 29 and April 10 and 3 deaths occurred between August 5 and April 8, identified from death certificate reports.

Overall hospitalizations have dropped slightly in the latest data from the MSDH. 

Mississippi is approaching 1.5 million administered doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. To make your appointment, visit covidvaccine.umc.edu. The MSDH’s use and distribution of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine remains on pause.
