MSDH reports 1,572 new COVID-19 cases

COVID-19 is continuing to spread throughout the state according to the Mississippi State Department of Health’s latest report confirming 1,572 new cases.

Thursday’s report brings the state’s total number of cases to 827,012. With three additional deaths, the number of Mississippians who have died as a result of the virus is 12,505. Additionally, there are currently 136 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.

As of June 21, 1,554,082 Mississippians were fully vaccinated. The FDA also recently authorized the use of vaccines for those as young as six months.
