MSDH reports 1,614 new COVID-19 cases in Mississippi

On Tuesday, the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) confirmed 1,614 new cases of COVID-19.

The seven-day update brings the state’s total number of recorded cases since the onset of the pandemic to 929,079. With 16 additional deaths, 12,928 Mississippians have now passed away as a result of the virus. Additionally, there are currently 80 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.

Mississippi is averaging 267 daily cases, a 48% decrease from two weeks ago. As of October 1, 1,567,597 Mississippians were fully vaccinated.
