MSDH reports 1,869 new COVID-19 cases

On Tuesday, the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) confirmed 1,869 new cases of COVID-19.

The seven-day update brings the state’s total number of recorded cases since the onset of the pandemic to 927,465. With 33 additional deaths, 12,912 Mississippians have now passed away as a result of the virus. Additionally, there are currently 100 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.

Mississippi is averaging 443 daily cases, a 47% decrease from two weeks ago. As of September 1, 1,563,903 Mississippians were fully vaccinated.
