MSDH reports 2,481 new COVID-19 cases from the weekend

The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 2,481 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday.

The three-day total brings the state’s number of recorded cases up to 894,772 since the onset of the pandemic. With nine additional deaths, 12,729 Mississippians have passed away from the virus. In addition, there are currently 188 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.

Mississippi is averaging 1,261 daily cases over the last week, a 3% decrease from two weeks ago. As of August 8, 1,557,781 Mississippi residents were fully vaccinated.
