MSDH reports 2,652 new COVID-19 cases from the weekend

The Mississippi State Department of Health reported 2,652 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday.

The three-day total brings the state’s total number of cases to 877,784. With five additional deaths, the total number of Mississippians who have passed away from the virus is 12,653. In addition, there are currently 219 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.

Mississippi is averaging 1,299 daily cases over the last week, a 16% decrease from two weeks ago. As of Monday, 1,557,324 Mississippi residents were fully vaccinated.
