MSDH reports 2,908 new COVID-19 cases

COVID-19 is still on the rise in Mississippi according to the Mississippi State Department of Health’s latest report confirming 2,908 new cases.

Thursday’s report calculated the numbers from Tuesday and Wednesday. The update brings the state’s total number of cases to 835,120. With nine additional deaths, the complete number of Mississippians who have passed as a result of the virus is now 12,525. In addition, there are currently 162 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.

As of June 21, the total number of Mississippians who are fully vaccinated is 1,554,082.
