NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal is opening shop in Mississippi.
The big man’s popular chicken restaurant, Big Chicken, will be locating its newest store in Hattiesburg. In an announcement made by SRS Real Estate Partners, the restaurant will be on US-98 near Lowe’s and Walmart.
Founded by O’Neal in 2018, Big Chicken has a fast-casual style and is known for its crispy chicken tenders and sandwiches, Cheez-It-crusted mac n’ cheese, and homemade sundaes. Another popular item is the “Dirty Fries,” which are French fries covered in cheese sauce, bacon, banana peppers, and chipotle barbecue sauce.
While Big Chicken has found homes in nearby states such as Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, and Tennessee, this will be its first Mississippi location.
