Apple’s new and improved store has officially opened in Ridgeland. .
As Mississippi’s only Apple store, frequent visitors don’t have to worry about finding somewhere new to service their phones, as the store relocated only a short walk away. Originally located next to the Lululemon and Barnes and Noble at the Renaissance at Colony Park shopping mall, the old Apple location will soon become the state’s first LEGO Store.
Among the shoppers at Friday’s grand opening, Christian Holmes said he’s glad Apple chose to remain in the same shopping center.
“I think’s it’s a statement about the area – a testament to the people who live here, who love the product, and to everything Ridgeland has to offer,” Holmes said.
Located across from the Renaissance Malco movie theater and Aplós Greek restaurant, the new, expanded Apple Store has settled into a bigger building with more of a focus on user experience.
“Transitioning to a larger, more spacious footprint, the new location features three parallel rows of product tables, giving customers even more room to discover, explore and shop the full lineup of Apple products,” Apple said in a statement.
The interior of the new store isn’t just larger; it’s upgraded too. With walls covered in Apple products from phone cases to MacBooks, the store inside boasts larger, more accessible walking lanes and a vibrant interior. Apple fanatic Dalton Wilson explained why he loves the store’s new look.
“I think it’s cool that it has all of the technology laid out, where you can test it out. Because at the other one, it was just kinda bland. But now it’s more lively, and you can access everything,” Wilson said.
Apple empathized the importance of staying in the Jackson metro and continuing to serve the community with its larger, upgraded store.
“From native trees and locally sourced materials to partnerships with local businesses, every detail of the new design reflects Apple’s deep commitment to the Greater Jackson community,” the company’s statement concluded.
