After severe weather hit portions of Mississippi on Friday and Saturday, six tornadoes have been confirmed to have touched down.
Survey teams from the National Weather Service in Jackson said Friday’s weather included EF-0 tornadoes in Madison and Leake County and Jones County along with an EF-1 twister in Walthall County. Saturday’s weather included an EF-0 tornado in Lauderdale County and EF-1 tornadoes in Jefferson Davis and Simpson counties. NWS concluded its surveys on Sunday, although “further tweaks to existing paths are possible as additional information is received.”
NWS survey teams have confirmed four tornadoes so far from January 9th and 10th storms:

Today, NWS survey teams confirmed two additional tornadoes from Saturday morning’s storms:
*An EF-0 tornado near Wanilla in Lawrence Co
*An EF-1 tornado near Carson in Jefferson Davis Co

Minor damage has been reported in some areas, including at a John Deere dealership and other businesses in Laurel.
No injuries or deaths have been reported from the storms.
