Most of Mississippi could be in for severe weather this weekend.
The National Weather Service forecasts that the Delta and central regions of the state are at a slight risk for severe weather beginning late Friday, meaning there is an elevated risk of damaging winds up to 60 miles per hour and hail a quarter to half dollar size.

The northeastern, southwestern, and Pine Belt areas of Mississippi are at a marginal risk of severe weather, meaning there is a likely risk of damaging wind gusts and hail up to a quarter size.
Officials with the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency warn those in these regions to stay weather aware by keeping up with forecasts and observing all possible precautions.
