Ocean Springs has been named the Best Small Town for Shopping by popular vote in the 2023 USA Today 10 Best Readers’ Choice travel awards contest.
For four weeks, the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce-Main Street-Tourism Bureau campaigned for the community to vote daily in the contest.
Ocean Springs was up against national competition including New York, New Jersey, California, Ohio, North Carolina, Arkansas, Maine, Alabama, Minnesota, Michigan, and others for two categories.
By a popular vote, Ocean Springs won as the number one Best Small Town for Shopping and fifth for Best Small Town Cultural Scene. Rhinebeck, New York placed second for Best Small Town for Shopping.
“Ocean Springs is a cozy seaside town overflowing with unparalleled arts, festivals, culture, restaurants, shops, and galleries,” Cynthia Sutton, executive director of the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce-Main Street-Tourism Bureau, said. “We are truly honored to be recognized for our unique, yet large shopping areas and creative character. This really does help visitors feel welcomed to town.”
Now, the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce-Main Street-Tourism Bureau will begin rolling out marketing materials including posters and banners to celebrate the wins for the city.
