Ole Miss freshman student found dead on campus

An Ole Miss student has passed away after being found unresponsive in Stockard Hall on Friday, October 6.

According to University Police Department records, Cameron Tucker Parsons, 19, was discovered in his room at approximately 4:25 p.m. Prior to his death, the Perkinston native was pursuing a Bachelor of Accountancy degree.

Parsons was born on February 8, 2004, in Hattiesburg, later graduating from French Camp Academy before deciding to continue his education at the University of Mississippi. He was a freshman at the time of his death.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Sanford Missionary Baptist Church in Seminary on Wednesday, October 11. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with interment to be in the Bullock Cemetery.

Survivors include his mother and father, Aleta and Tadd Parsons of Perkinston; two sisters, Caroline Parsons of San Diego, CA, and Piper Olive Parsons of Perkinston; one brother, Ethan Parsons of Perkinston; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
