Ole Miss and Mississippi State have both been invited to compete in the 2027 Amegy Bank College Baseball Series in Arlington, Texas.
The Bulldogs will return for the second year in a row to play at Globe Life Field on March 5-7, while the Rebels will make an appearance for the first time. Along with the two teams from Mississippi, Dallas Baptist, Penn State, UCLA, and Wake Forest will be among the field.
“The Amegy Bank College Baseball Series continues to establish itself as one of the nation’s premier regular-season college baseball events,” said Jared Schrom of REV Entertainment, which is putting on the round-robin tournament. “The outstanding programs and passionate fan bases that return each year help showcase the sport at its highest level and create an exceptional experience for everyone involved.”
UCLA was a baseball giant in 2026, earning an astounding 52-8 record, winning their conference during the season and the tournament, and holding the national No. 1 ranking for the entire season before being eliminated in shocking fashion from their own regional. Wake Forest, another recent baseball blue blood, finished the most recent campaign with a home record of 25-5 and had a perfect 15-0 non-conference home record. Dallas Baptist boasted a top 25 nationally ranked fielding percentage with a .980, and Penn State had a player break their single-season home run record with 20 in 2026.
Ole Miss well exceeded season expectations by making it all the way to the College World Series and finishing with a 41-23 record. Although they were the first team out in Omaha, Rebel fans should feel positive about the 2026 season.
Up until this point, Ole Miss had never received an invitation to play in the Amegy Bank Series, but they have had a chance to play on the Texas Rangers’ field to start the season in the past. In the Rebels’ 2021 campaign, they went 3-0 in the State Farm College Baseball Showdown, sweeping the weekend against all ranked opponents.
Mississippi State finished 2026 with a 43-19 record and beat Ole Miss all four times they played. While they didn’t make it quite as far into the tournament as the Rebels, they did advance to the super regional round but lost a high-octane series to a very good Georgia team.
The Bulldogs went 2-1 in this past season’s Amegy Bank Series with its only loss coming to top-ranked UCLA. Mississippi State also notched a 2-1 record at Globe Life Field in 2021, the year they won the College World Series.
“We’re excited for the opportunity to compete in the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series again next year,” said Mississippi State head coach Brian O’Connor. “We had an awesome experience in Arlington last year and got to test ourselves against quality competition early on in the season. It gave us a good barometer of where our team was at heading into conference play.”
Exclusive home-plate tickets will be available for purchase and will offer access to all three days of the tournament, reserved seating behind home plate, reserved parking, early ballpark entry, concession discounts, commemorative merchandise, unlimited soft drink refills, and access to exclusive hospitality areas all for a price of $156 for adults and $84 for kids 13 and under.
Specific game times and matchups will be announced at a later date, but fans can begin reserving home-plate tickets to the 2027 Amegy Bank College Baseball Series starting June 25 at 9 a.m. More ticket information can be found here.
