A pair of 15-year-olds have been arrested in connection with the death of a 16-year-old in Ridgeland.
Ridgeland Police Chief Brian Myers confirmed that Curtice Tucker and Daniel Banks Jr. are charged with culpable negligence manslaughter. Their arrests stem from an Oct. 9 shooting that reportedly occurred in the parking lot of Aspen Apartments on Old Canton Road.
Police initially responded to nearby Smile Straight Orthodontics in reference to the gunfire but determined that the shooting actually took place at the apartment complex.
According to investigators, Elijah Minor was shot in the back and later died from his injuries, despite emergency personnel performing lifesaving measures.
The two suspects are being charged as adults and are currently housed in the Madison County Detention Center. Both will appear before a Ridgeland judge on Oct. 13.
