Another firearm has been brought onto campus at a Mississippi school — this time by a parent.
The parent of a Jackson Public School student has been taken into custody for bringing a gun to an educational facility following a fight.
The incident occurred at Provine High School at 4:15 p.m. after a group of students were involved in a physical altercation.
According to JPS spokesman Sherwin Johnson, a parent of one of the students involved walked onto the school property with a gun.
The unidentified students involved in the disturbance have been disciplined and the parent, who has not yet been identified, was seized and taken into custody by JPS campus enforcement.
No students or staff members were harmed during the incident.
