Ever wanted to own an island, or at least part of one? Well, now’s your chance with a portion of Horn Island going up for sale right off the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Horn Island, which sits about eight miles off the shore of Ocean Springs, is mostly under federal control. But a small piece of it is privately owned.

According to a real estate listing recently made public, around 96 acres of the private part of the island are now on the market. The asking price for the land, which the listing says can be broken into 16 individual parcels spanning from the north shore to the south shore, is $25 million.
Florida-based LPT Realty is behind the listing, which is only accessibly by private boat.

According to a report from the Sun Herald, Gulf Islands National Park has already expressed interest in the property but must first determine if it can request potential funding support through the Land & Water Conservation Fund.
