Capitol Police are investigating two shootings that occurred less than 30 minutes apart early Friday morning in Jackson, leaving three people hospitalized.
The first shooting was reported around 1:18 a.m. in the area of Booker Street after several calls came in about gunfire. When officers arrived, they found two victims with gunshot wounds. Both were transported to a nearby hospital. Police said no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
A second shooting was reported shortly at 1:46 a.m. near Battlefield Park, where officers located one person suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was also taken to a hospital for treatment. No arrests have been made in that case either.
Both shootings remain under investigation. Capitol Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (601) 359-3125. Officials said no additional details are to be released at this time.
