A series of complaints about an individual selling controlled substances in northeast Mississippi has led to the arrest of a known criminal and the confiscation of a large quantity of drugs.
Law enforcement in the Tupelo area received reports that Anfernee Travess Owens, 28, was selling illegal substances, prompting the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit, along with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, to investigate.

The investigation led to the execution of a search warrant in the 2600 block of McCullough Boulevard. During the operation, agents and officers made contact with Owens and recovered more than 55 pounds of marijuana, three firearms, and more than $100,000 in seized property.
Owens was handcuffed and charged with trafficking a Schedule I controlled substance. The suspect, who was already out on bond for three separate fentanyl distribution charges, was denied bond for the new charge.
