The Jackson Police Department is searching for three suspects involved in a home invasion that left one man dead on Wednesday night.

Officers report that one white female and three Black males entered a home on Jayne Avenue and Willaman Street around 9:30 p.m. after kicking down the back door.

The four suspects then robbed the home’s residents before killing a 42-year-old unidentified man and kidnapping a 10-month-old infant.

The female suspect, who was later identified as 18-year-old Jazmyn Johnson, was taken into custody at a gas station located on Lynch Street shortly after the incident. The baby was also safely recovered during Johnson’s arrest.

Johnson has been charged with capital murder, armed robbery of an individual, burglary of an occupied dwelling, and kidnapping.

No bond has been set for Johnson’s capital murder charge, but a bond of $1.1 million has been set for the additional felonies.

Officials have since released that Johnson is the birth mother of the child and the deceased man was her mother’s boyfriend. Johnson’s mother has full custody of the infant.

The remaining suspects are still at large as officers continue to investigate the incident.
