Mississippi parents are encouraged to see if their children are using educational toys that have been recalled due to excessive lead and phthalates.
The products in question are flashcard talking toys manufactured by TheKiddoSpace. The recall, which was issued voluntarily by TheKiddoSpace in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, applies to products purchased from the company’s website and Amazon from October 2023 through February 2025.

“Lead and phthalates are toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health issues. In addition, the flashcards also violate the mandatory standard for toys because they fail to comply with the short-circuit protection requirement for battery-operated toys,” a release from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reads.
Officials with the Mississippi State Department of Health urge parents to stop allowing their children to use the toys, while refunding or trashing them, and to consider getting their youth tested for possible lead poisoning.
