As Madison County Deputy Brad Sullivan continues his recovery after being shot in the line of duty in September, he has received a letter of encouragement from President Donald Trump.

After being shot in the head during a shootout with a suspect in Canton on September 5th, Sullivan underwent immediate surgery and was released from the hospital in late December.

On his road to recovery, support for Sullivan poured in from across the state and the entire country on a Facebook page titled “Praying for Deputy Brad Sullivan”. Earlier today, the page shared the letter from the President commending Sullivan for his bravery “in the face of great peril.”

The suspect in the shooting, Edgar Egbert, remains in custody on multiple counts of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer.
