Based on the telephone calls to The Secretary of State’s Office, voter turnout for the 2020 Presidential Primary Elections seem to be steady.

The call volume into the Secretary of State’s Election Hotline has been below average, with most calls relating to polling location and voter registration questions.

In regards to all coronavirus inquires, our office has advised all counties to supply disinfecting spray and sanitizing materials at polling places. We also provided county election officials with a document listing the best practices for cleaning and sanitizing touch-screen voting devices. There are no confirmed coronavirus cases in our state, but we are still remaining cautious.

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) issued a warning to remain vigilant of scams related to coronavirus. The warning cautions internet users to be wary of emails with malicious attachments or links to fraudulent websites. CISA recommends using caution in handling any email with a COVID-19-related subject line, attachment, or hyperlink, and to be wary of social media pleas, texts, or calls related to COVID-19.
