Looking to score an alligator in Mississippi? Well, now is the time to apply.
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks announced that private lands alligator season applications are now open.

For the first year, applications can only be submitted online. Mailed-in hard copy applications will not be accepted, per officials. Hunters have from now until July 1 to formally submit a bid to hunt alligators on private lands. The season is set to last from August 29 until September 22.

For those looking to hunt in public areas, the draw application period for the public waters alligator season will open on June 2 and conclude on June 11.
