Dates have been announced for the Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum’s annual Pumpkin Adventure.
All are invited to celebrate fall at the museum on Lakeland Drive in Jackson. On Oct. 7-10, 14-17, and 21-24, families can enjoy what organizers call a “pumpkin paradise” that includes hayrides, educational opportunities and, of course, plenty of pumpkins to take home and decorate the doorstep with.
“Every October, this family-friendly event turns the museum grounds into a pumpkin paradise, bursting with fun activities for everyone!” a release from the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce reads. “Visitors can take a hayride through the scenic property, learn about the life cycle of a pumpkin, enjoy a tasty snack after your ride and spend some time in the kid friendly corn pit.
“In addition to the hayride and exhibits, attendees can stop by the Pumpkin Patch to pick your very own pie pumpkin to take home. Seasonal treats and souvenirs will also be available at the Small Town Mississippi General Store, ensuring visitors leave with lasting memories of their autumn adventure.”
Tours of the museum will also be available during Pumpkin Adventure hours, giving visitors a chance to learn more about Mississippi’s agricultural heritage.
Admission for the Pumpkin Adventure is $12 per person. Children under 1 year old get in free.
The Pumpkin Adventure will be open from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesdays through Fridays, with extended hours for family days on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
