A Lowndes County company is expanding operations with a $10.25 million corporate investment that will create 31 new jobs in the area.

Quality Beverage is a leading private-label manufacturer of dispensed beverage concentrates, syrups, and sweeteners for the food and beverage industry.

Columbus and Lowndes County have always been home, and with the LINK’s assistance, we were able to identify a site where our new operations will deliver significant additional manufacturing capacity for our customer partners and, most importantly, a best-in-class facility for our dedicated, hard-working employees,” Quality Beverage President Brad Earwood said.

The expansion will include the construction of a 50,000-square-foot beverage syrup facility in Golden Triangle Industrial Aerospace Park, with the new facility set to house manufacturing, R&D, and distribution operations for the company.

“In Mississippi, we’re committed to building the ideal environment for businesses and workers to thrive and prosper. Projects like this one further enhance our strong reputation as a top destination for business,” Governor Tate Reeves stated. “I thank the Quality Beverage team for choosing to expand in Mississippi and look forward to seeing the benefits this investment will generate throughout the Golden Triangle Region.”

The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) is providing assistance through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive, or MFLEX. The Golden Triangle Development LINK and the Lowndes County Industrial Development Authority also have worked with the company to develop this expansion project.

“MDA strives to provide a supportive business environment that encourages growth so companies like Quality Beverage have a strong foundation on which to create economic opportunities in their communities for not only the local workforce but also for future generations of Mississippians,” MDA Deputy Executive Director Laura Hipp explained. “This expansion is a sterling example of an existing Mississippi company finding the formula needed for continued growth and success right here at home.”

Construction is slated to begin in early 2024 with the goal of plant operations beginning in January 2025.
