Are you looking to fish for rainbow trout but don’t want to travel to a different state to do so? If that’s the case, you’re in luck.

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) announced on Thursday that 700 rainbow trout have been stocked into the bank-fishing pond at Lake Lamar Bruce near Saltillo, making it the only public water body in the state to offer rainbow trout fishing.

According to the agency, anglers can harvest up to three trout per person per day with no size restrictions. Anglers must have a valid fishing license and a state lake daily or annual fishing permit to fish in the pond.

The 700 rainbow trout at Lake Lamar Bruce were provided by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Greers Ferry National Fish Hatchery and stocked by the Bob Tyler Fish Hatchery in Enid.
