A worker has passed away after falling off the roof of a building at the Mississippi University for Women.
University officials and the Lowndes County Coroner’s Office confirm that the incident happened at Painter Hall, a two-story building, on Monday morning. The unidentified victim was transported to Baptist-Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle in Columbus before passing away.
Officials report that the victim was employed by a roofing company working to complete a project at the building before students return to class at the Columbus campus.
