Even though medical marijuana is now legal in the Magnolia State, it doesn’t mean there aren’t bad actors participating in the program.

On Friday, July 28, Lee County law enforcement officers took Mark Anthony Cash into custody after receiving a tip that Cash was selling products not compliant with the state’s medical cannabis program at his store, The Green Guys Medical Cannabis Dispensary.

Upon searching the dispensary in Saltillo, police seized two pounds of non-Marijuana Enforcement Tracking and Compliance (METRC) compliant marijuana, more than 100 2.5-pound bags of non-METRC compliant THC gummies, four handguns, and over $2,000 in cash.

According to a Facebook post from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, a subsequent search of Cash’s home resulted in guns, more cash, and illegal drugs being found.

Cash faces three counts of sale of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. Those charges could be upgraded.
