The Sanderson Farms Championship has announced that NFL referee and Pascagoula native Sarah Thomas will be the keynote speaker at its 2022 Women’s Day.
Thomas, one of Sports Illustrated’s 100 most influential NFL figures of all time, became the first full-time female official in NFL history in 2015. In 2019, she became the first woman to officiate a playoff game before making history once again as the first woman to officiate a Super Bowl in 2021.
The Women’s Day Luncheon, in its eighth year, will be held at The Country Club of Jackson on Tuesday, September 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. with International Paper as the presenting sponsor.
