General municipal elections will be held across Mississippi on Tuesday, June 3. Secretary of State Michael Watson is reminding residents that there are still multiple options for making their voice heard in the approaching local elections.
For those unable to cast a ballot on Election Day, municipal clerk’s offices will be open each of the next two Saturdays. On Saturday, May 24, and Saturday, May 31, offices will be open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. to give eligible voters further opportunity to cast their ballots.

Registered voters can still cast an in-person absentee ballot from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. The final day Mississippians will be able to vote in-person absentee on May 31.

Mississippi absentee voters can also still vote by mail. All mail-in ballots must be postmarked by election day on Tuesday, June 3, to be counted.
Further details on absentee voting requirements can be found here.
Those unsure of their ability to vote absentee can verify eligibility via the Mississippi Secretary of State’s Y’all Vote platform or by contacting their local municipal clerk’s office.
