A long list of special elections is set to take place across Mississippi on Tuesday, August 5. Voters will have an opportunity to cast their excused in-person absentee ballots on the next two Saturdays.
According to the Mississippi Secretary of State’s Office, local circuit clerk’s offices will be open from 8 a.m. to noon beginning this Saturday, July 26, for in-person absentee voting.
The final Saturday to cast an in-person absentee vote is the following Saturday, August 2, when offices will be open again from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
All mail-in absentee ballots are required to be postmarked by Election Day, Tuesday, August 5, to be counted in the special elections. Absentee ballots can be tracked via the My Election Day portal.
Secretary of State Michael Watson is also encouraging voters to get informed before making the trip to their local polling place. Election information tailored to specific addresses, such as a sample ballot, can be viewed here.
