Ole Miss and Mississippi State fans were teased with their annual SEC opponents for the 2026-29 football seasons, but now both programs have been provided their full conference slate for the next four campaigns.
Following in the footsteps of power conference peers, the SEC announced in August that it would be moving to a regular season schedule that features nine games versus conference opponents beginning in 2026. As part of a rotating schedule, each SEC team will face six conference foes on a rotating basis, along with the three annual ones.
The purpose of the rotating schedule is to ensure that every SEC team has faced all of its conference counterparts at least once, and over the four-year stint, each team has played all of its conference foes at home and on the road. In addition, all SEC schools will be required to face at least one opponent from the ACC, Big Ten, or Big 12 each year.
In Oxford, Lane Kiffin’s Rebels will face Mississippi State, LSU, and Oklahoma annually, and will have battles against foes they used to face every year rekindled. Here’s what the next few years of conference play will look like for Ole Miss:

In Starkville, Jeff Lebby’s Bulldogs will take on Ole Miss, Alabama, and Vanderbilt on a yearly basis, along with six other conference counterparts. Here’s the SEC teams on the docket for Mississippi State through 2029:

Per sources, conference officials leaned on data modeling and analytics to ensure parity in upcoming schedules, meaning the SEC is working to eliminate overly easy or difficult schedules to create a competitive balance for all of its member institutions.
But while we’re all looking ahead, SEC matchups loom for both No. 13 Ole Miss and Mississippi State in the current season. The Rebels will host No. 4 LSU in the annual Magnolia Bowl on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT, whereas the Bulldogs will welcome No. 15 Tennessee to Davis Wade Stadium on Saturday at 3:15 p.m. CT.
