After a successful first year, Serengeti Springs at the Hattiesburg Zoo is prepared to accommodate an influx of guests with additional offerings.
The popular water park will kick off its second season in the Pine Belt on Memorial Day weekend and run through Labor Day. Serengeti Springs will officially open its gates for year two at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 24.

Many new features have been added to the park, especially to provide additional shade amid the Mississippi heat. Six additional “deluxe cabanas,” two new “elite cabanas,” additional loungers, an in-park designated smoking area, games and entertainment during weather delays, new menu offerings, and additional 9-foot umbrellas are some of the new perks.
“We listened to the suggestions and requests of our guests in our first year of operation, and we have made many changes we believe will allow our guests to enjoy Serengeti Springs even more this year,” said Demetric Kelly, director of guest services and retail.”We are looking forward to a ‘splashtastic’ second season.”
