According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, severe thunderstorms are possible in central, northern, and western areas of Mississippi on Monday night.
The storms are expected to begin around 8 p.m. and continue through 5 a.m. on Tuesday. The primary concerns will be damaging wind gusts and tornadoes, along with hail up to the size of a quarter.

Storms will continue over central and eastern portions of Mississippi on Tuesday, and they may re-intensify to near severe levels during the late morning through afternoon hours. The primary concerns will be for damaging wind gusts and hail up to quarter-size, while a tornado can’t be ruled out.
